REGULATORY CONTEXT
PPE means any item designed to be worn or held by a person to protect against one or more risks that may threaten their safety.
In Europe, the placing on the market of PPE is regulated by PPE Regulation 2016/425 and each PPE must meet the applicable essential health and safety requirements.
Technical documents enabling the manufacturer to prove compliance with the essential health and safety requirements include in particular the PPE Regulation 2016/425, the list of harmonised standards and the European coordination sheets.
